Of all the fights that have happened the last couple of months and those that will occur over before 2014 begins, the Andre Ward-Edwin Rodriguez bout might just be the most overlooked.
Ward, prior to a shoulder injury that has kept him out action for 14 months, was arguably, pound-for-pound, the best in the world. But as is usually the case in boxing, a long layoff can lead to a demotion in...Read more »
Episode 1 of HBO's "24/7: Pacquiao vs. Rios" didn't contain any fireworks, but it certainly had its share of moments.
Much of the start of this episode was spent going over Manny Pacquiao's crushing knockout loss to Juan Manuel Marquez and introducing the audience to Brandon Rios. It proved a little slow for those who know the storylines, but it was certainly worthwhile getting to...Read more »

An argument can be made that the essence of boxing has always been summed up in three words: Gatti vs. Ward.
The Arturo “Thunder” Gatti and “Irish” Micky Ward trilogy, perhaps the most entertaining, if not greatest saga in boxing history, was captured in a very insightful way by HBO in its documentary “Legendary Nights: The Tale of Gatti-Ward."
The Gatti-Ward trilogy, fought in...Read more »
