Report: Arum 'optimistic' about Pacquiao and Mayweather

Every year, talk of a possible bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao comes up. The two sides have tried and failed on at least two different occasions to strike a deal.

After three years of failed talks, there could finally be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is in jail and Manny Pacquiao just lost his title. But hey, it's not all bad news.

Forbes released it's list of the world's highest paid athletes and Floyd and Pac Man rank numbers one and two.

According to Forbes, Mayweather made $85 million for two fights last year and Pacquiao made $62 million from fight purses and endorsements.

Manny Pacquiao made his debut in the top 10 of Forbes most influential athletes in America. Pac Man, the only fighter on the list, came in at number four. NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson topped the list for the second straight year. Three New York athletes made the list - Tim Tebow, Eli Manning and Jeremy Lin.
