1. Floyd Mayweather Jr., welterweight (44-0): Floyd is back in the top spot. Truth be told, it was an easy decision since Andre Ward has been inactive for so long. His win over Robert Guerrero on Cinco de Mayo proved he still has it. His September 14 bout against Canelo Alvarez is more proof that Mayweather is finally ready to put everything on the line.

What’s next for Floyd Mayweather Jr.? The simple answer: whatever he wants. Truth be told, that is probably the only answer.
Mayweather is in a unique position where he has his pick of who he wants to fight, where and when. That’s a rarity in boxing these days, as promoters are often times running the show.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. fans won’t like it, but Ward has been active and he’s beaten most of the top 168-pound fighters in the world and the best light heavyweight. Can’t deny Ward the top spot this time.

If you let Sergio Martinez tell the story, the only reason WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is in the position he’s in is because of his name. Chavez Jr. is the son of former Mexican great Julio Cesar Chavez Sr.
Martinez (pictured) hasn’t tried to hide his disdain for Chavez.
“It is very simple. I cannot accept the fact he is world champion,” Martinez said. “The only...Read more »
