A pair of Long Island fighters -- Chris Algieri and Tommy Rainone -- will be part of Top Rank's big card in the Theater at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night.

Algieri, a junior welterweight out of Huntington, is 9-0 and faces James Hope in a six-round fight. Rainone, a junior middleweight from Plainview, is 12-3 and meets Gerardo Preito in another six-rounder.

The co-main events promise to be spectacular. WBA featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboa, out of Cuba, defends his title against Rogers Mtagwa, out Philadelphia, via Tanzania. And WBO featherweight champ Steve Leuvano, out of L.A., defends against rising former super banty champion and Puerto Rico's next megastar, Juan Manuel Lopez.

Look for Bob Arum to match the winners later in 2010. Hopefully at Madison Square Garden. Perhaps on the undercard of the proposed Yuri Foreman-Miguel Cotto junior middleweight title fight in June.
