The St. Louis Cardinals beat the San Francisco Giants 3-1 on Wednesday night, to take a 2-1 lead in the NLCS. Rookie Matt Carpenter hit a two-run homer in his first NLCS at bat after subbing for the injured Carlos Beltran. AP video (Oct. 18)
