The Big Ten tonight announced division alignments beginning with the 2011 season, when Nebraska joins the conference as the 12th member.

The divisions are:

Illinois
Indiana
Ohio State
Penn State
Purdue
Wisconsin

Iowa
Michigan
Michigan State
Minnesota
Nebraska
Northwestern
 

The 2011 conference title game will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Dec. 3.

Each team will play the five teams in its division and three games against teams from the other division. The guaranteed cross-division games to be played on an annual basis are: Illinois-Northwestern, Indiana-Michigan State, Ohio State-Michigan, Penn State-Nebraska, Purdue-Iowa and Wisconsin-Minnesota.

For the conference schedules of 2011 and 2012, which were released tonight, Ohio State and Michigan would end the season playing each other.
