The Adelphi women's basketball team earned the top seed and will host the eight-team NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament starting Friday with a game against eighth-seeded Holy Family (Pa.).

Adelphi (28-3) won its first NE-10 title by beating American International, 79-57, Sunday. The Panthers beat Holy Family (20-10), 80-70, on Dec. 20 in Garden City.

Also at Adelphi, second-seeded New Haven (23-5) faces seventh-seeded Philadelphia University (22-8), which earned the at-large bid coming out of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. Third-seeded District of Columbia (25-4) will meet No. 6 Franklin Pierce (18-10). No. 5 Queens (22-7), which beat NYIT for the East Coast Conference title, will play No. 4 Stonehill (22-4).
