Devon Saddler had 23 points as Delaware, sparked by a big second half, downed visiting Hofstra, 69-54, in a CAA men's game at the Bob Carpenter Center Wednesday night in Newark, Del.

Hofstra falls to 4-11 and 1-1 in conference play. Delaware improves to 7-8 and 2-0.

Hofstra junior Daquan Brown had a season-high 13 points and was the only Pride player to finish in double figures.

Stevie Mejia added nine points and four rebounds, David Imes had eight points and eight rebounds and Jordan Allen chipped in eight points for the Pride.

Jarvis Threatt had 19 points and six steals for the Blue Hens.

Hofstra had its way on the boards, outrebounding Delaware 34-27, but the Pride was undone by its poor shooting.

Hofstra shot only 38 percent from the field, including 1-for-10 on three-pointers, and 13-for-23 from the free-throw line.

Delaware shot 50 percent (27-for-54) from the field.

Saddler scored 11 of his 23 points in the first half as Delaware took a 31-28 lead at the break.

Delaware opened the second half on an 8-0 run and led 39-28.

The Blue Hens extended the lead to 46-33 with 13:35 on a three by Kyle Anderson.

Hofstra got as close as 47-36 on a three-pointer by Mejia with 12:53 left, but Delaware outscored the Pride 22-18 the rest of the way.
