When Hempstead high's Terrell Holloway made his way to Xavier, his reputation was that of a player maker who was a ball-hawk on defense.

Lighting it up from three-point range wasn't on his resume. The sophomore guard was money from downtown in Thursday night's 101-96 loss in double overtime to Kansas State in a regional semifinal. Holloway had 26 points, including four three-pointers in Thursday's loss. Two of those threes came in the first overtime.

Holloway averaged just under 12 points during the regular season. Holloway is averaging 16.6 points over his last five games (2 Atlantic 10 tourney games and 3 NCAA games).

No doubt the way he played in the tournament will give him even more confidence next season. With just one senior on the roster (Center Jason Love), don't be surprised to see Holloway back in the gym next week.
