The Hofstra women weren't left behind as they accepted a bid to the WNIT on Monday night. The Pride (19-13) travel to the Pennsylvania on Thursday and will face Penn State in a first-round game.

Its Hofstra's third trip to the NIT. The Pride's first trip came in 2005-2006. They beat Stony Brook in the first-round. The following season Hofstra had its best season as a Division program with a 26-8 record. The Pride advanced to the NIT quarterinal, falling to Western Kentucky.

Senior Sam Brigham is the only remaining member from the 2006-2007 team.

A strong late season run for the Pride, which won eight of its last 11 games, earned them a NIT bid. The winner of Thursday's game will face either St. Joseph's or VCU in the second round.

Freshman Shante Evans was an All-CAA selection, while senior Jess Fuller made the All-CAA defensive team.
