It hasn't been the best New Year for the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Roy Williams' crew suffered a serious meltdown in an 82-79 overtime loss to the College of Charleston on January 4. UNC recovered with an easy win over Virginia Tech a week later, but looked terrible in an 83-64 loss to Clemson Wednesday night.

Williams was so upset with his team's performance in the first half that he pulled all of his starters with 18:32 left in the second half and the team trailing, 52-32.

Is it time to panic for North Carolina fans? Probably not, but the 12th-ranked Tar Heels (12-5, 1-1 ACC) have owned No.24 Clemson (14-3, 2-1), with their last lost to the Tigers coming in 2004.

Even if North Carolina has a bit of a down year, how can anyone complain? They're fresh off a national championship. I know UNC is considered the Holy Grail of college basketball programs, but they have earned the right to have a so-so season.
