No. 9 South Florida defeated No. 16 DePaul, 58-49, in the first game of the 2010 Big East Tournament, marking the first tournament win for the Bulls since joining the league in 2005. South Florida -- riding a four-game winning streak -- will play No. 8 Georgetown in Wednesday's opener at noon.

USF built a 15-point halftime as the Blue Demons shot 23 percent from the floor and only managed 15 points before the break. They went on a run to start the second and closed the deficit to five points, but the Bulls pulled away led by Dominique Jones' 20 points. Jones was named to the six-man All-Big East first team earlier this week.
