Welcome to the top spot Syracuse. It's the first time since 1990 the Orange were at the top of the AP poll. Syracuse, which topped Villanova, 95-77, in front of a record crowd on Saturday night, wasn't in the pre-season top 25 and dropped an exihibition game to Division II Le Moyne on national TV. Kansas dropped to No.2 and Kentucky fell one place to third.

Duke and Kansas State moved up one spot to fourth and fifth, and Ohio State vaulted three spots to sixth.

Northern Iowa dropped out of the poll, while Xavier, thanks to a double overtime win over Richmond, entered the poll for the first time this season.
