Free throws mean so much in college basketball. No.4 Wisconsin ecaped with a 53-49 win over No.14 Wofford. But the Terriers could've won this game, but has shot 1-for-7 from the line in the second half.

Jon Leuer was the star for Wisconsin as he hit a jumper and two free throws in the fine 18 seconds to secure the win for the Badgers.

Wisonsin's walk in the park turned into a trip through a mine field. Wofford's Jamar Diggs sparked a 14-7 run at the start of the second half with eight points, tying the score at 33 with 15:18 left in the game. The teams have traded leads over the last seven-plus minutes, whith Wisconsin taking a 44-42 with 7:55 left.

Pittsburgh is in control now. Six players are i double figures, led by Gilbert Brown with 17 points. Pitt leads 80-64 with 3:35 left.

It was tough early for the Panthers. Trailing 16-13, the Panthers ripped off a 19-6 run for a 32-22 lead with 2:51 left. They ended the half on a 7-4 run and led 39-26 at the break.

NBA prospect Keith Benson had seven points early for Oakland, which led No.3 Pittsburgh, 16-13, with 9:23 left in the first half. St. John's transfer Larry Wright has five early points for Oakland. If Wright can lend a helping hand from the outside, the Golden Grizzlies could stay in this. And he needs to step up because Oakland's Derick Nelson took an elbow to the face. His status is uncertain.
