Dowling's Tyler Badamo finds new pitch

For the first time since he could remember, Tyler Badamo decided not to throw a baseball for nearly three months.

“From mid-August to about mid-December, I did everything as far as strength and conditioning goes, but I didn’t throw a ball at all,” said the Dowling College senior ace. “I gave my arm a break so I would be ready to go this season.”

Cole leaves Dowling for Iona

Dowling’s Rick Cole Jr. was named athletic director at Iona, college president Joseph E. Nyre announced.

Cole, who spent eight years as Dowling’s athletic director, was instrumental in the development of Dowling’s $12.5-million athletic complex at its Brookhaven campus.

East Coast Conference women’s basketball champion Dowling (25-3) will face NYIT (23-5) Friday at Bentley in the NCAA East Region Tournament.

LIU Post (19-9) will face top-seeded Bentley (28-1).
