Stony Brook, Steve Pikiell agree to extension

Stony Brook men's basketball coach Steve Pikiell received a contract extension through the 2017-28 season, the university announced on Thursday.

Pikiell, who will be entering his ninth season, has led the Seawolves to three America East regular season titles and two appearances in the NIT.

Erik Smiles to coach at LIU Post

LIU Post will introduce North Babylon's Erik Smiles as its new men’s basketball coach Thursday, the school announced Wednesday.

Molloy hired Kate Lynch as its new women's basketball coach. Lynch was named the NJCAA coach of the year after guiding the Community College of Rhode Island to a 25-7 record. Her team won three straight regional titles.
