The Colonial Athletic Association, home to Hofstra’s athletic program, announced a three-year agreement to hold its men’s basketball tournament at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore starting in 2014. The tournament has been held at Richmond Coliseum since 1990. 1st Mariner Arena seats 11,800. It was the site for the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament in 1995.

Stony Brook's Miguel Maysonet leads all of FCS (formerly Division I-AA) in rushing with 1,502 yards.
He is second in rushing average (166.89) to Zach Zenner of South Dakota State (180.88). Maysonet, from Riverhead, has played nine games compared with Zenner's eight.

Stony Brook University's LaValle Stadium will host the 2013 and 2014 America East men's lacrosse championship, the conference announced Thursday. The athletic directors from member institutions voted for the venue. The winning team receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
Semifinals for the 2013 tournament will be held May 2. The title game, on May 4, will be telecast on ESPNU.

St. John’s head coach Steve Lavin added Darrick Martin to his coaching staff as an assistant coach.
Martin played for Lavin at UCLA in 1991-92 when Lavin was an assistant. Martin, a point guard, played 13 seasons in the NBA for seven teams. Martin spent the past two season with the Minnesota Timberwolves as an assistant coach and player development specialist.
