Connecticut-Notre Dame at a glance

Line: Notre Dame by 6.

Series Record: First meeting.

Maybe Charlie Weis' job and Notre Dame's Gator Bowl hopes. Athletic director Jack Swarbrick has said he will evaluate the program after the season. Weis doesn't need another loss to a mediocre team on his resume. With three games left, the Huskies still have bowl hopes. They also are looking for their first win since the stabbing death of cornerback Jasper Howard on Oct. 18.

Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen vs. Connecticut's defense. The UConn defense has had trouble pressuring quarterbacks and covering defenders, a bad combination when going against Clausen, who is fifth in the nation in pass efficiency.

Connecticut: QB Zach Frazer left Notre Dame after being told by Weis he finished fourth in the four-man competition to replace Brady Quinn in May 2007. Frazer was UConn's starting quarterback to begin the season, but lost the job to Cody Endres when he hurt his knee. Endres hurt his left shoulder during a 28-24 loss to Rutgers. In the past two games, Frazer is 40-of-78 passing for 594 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.

Notre Dame: WR Golden Tate. Tate has turned into the player to watch in every Notre Dame game, making a highlight-reel play almost weekly.
