Hofstra's women's volleyball team will take on Florida State on Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Tallahassee, Fla., the NCAA Division I women's volleyball committee announced Sunday, according to Hofstra's athletic website.

The Pride are 21-13 entering the tournament. They won all three of their matches in the CAA Tournament, including a 3-2 win over Delaware Nov. 18 that clinched an automatic bid into the national tournament.

Hofstra heated up toward the end of the season. The team almost didn't qualify for the CAA Tournament, then ran the table all the way to the national tournament. They are currently riding a seven-match winning streak, one that began with a 3-0 victory over Georgia State on Oct. 26.

The winning streak is the second of its kind the Pride has experienced this season. They began the season with eight consecutive victories.

This will be Hofstra's first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2006. The Pride appeared in the tournament five times between 1995 and 2000.

Florida State finished the regular season 27-3. The Seminoles are ranked 12th in the country and are seeded ninth in the tournament.
