Hofstra usually has a pretty good chance to win when it gets a big scoring effort from its top two players, but that wasn't enough to beat powerful Drexel.

The Pride got standout performances from its senior duo of Nathaniel Lester (27 points) and Mike Moore (18) yesterday, but Chris Fouch scored 25 points as Drexel earned a 78-67 victory over the Pride at Daskalakis Center in Philadelphia.

Fouch shot 8-for-10 from the field for the Dragons (21-5, 12-2 Colonial Athletic Association).

It was the third straight loss and sixth in the last seven games for the Pride (8-19, 2-13).

"Nat [Lester] plays hard and gives us energy," Hofstra coach Mo Cassara said. "We just need a few more guys to step up for us."

Lester and Moore -- who reached 1,011 points in his Hofstra career to go with 513 in his time at Fordham -- shot a combined 13-for-31. The rest of the team shot 8-for-31.

"If we have a couple of more guys in double figures, we can win games," Cassara said.

Drexel, which shot 59 percent, had no issues finding alternative scorers. Frantz Massenat added 20 points and Damion Lee had 15.

Said Cassara: "They are clearly one of the best teams in the league and one of the best mid-major teams in the country."
