Torin Varn had four goals and an assist and Chris Selva made 12 saves to lead Hofstra, which enjoyed a thorough 13-1 victory over host St. Joseph's (Pa.) yesterday in Colonial Athletic Association men's lacrosse.

Mike Malave, Drew Coholan and Tyler Johnston each scored twice, and Adrian Sorichetti added a goal and an assist for the Pride (7-4, 2-2). Defender Mark Mullen scooped four groundballs as Hofstra stifled the Hawks and rebound from a 7-6 loss to Towson on March 30.

The Pride scored six goals in the second quarter to take control. Coholan's tally gave them a 2-1 lead with 14:49 left in the period and they pulled away.

Michael Dougherty scored the goal for St. Joseph's (5-7, 1-3). Dustin Keen had 15 saves.
