Hofstra wrestlers Griffin, Lucas: All-Americans

For the third straight year, the Hofstra wrestling team has
a pair of All-Americans.
Charles Griffin and Alton Lucas (West Babylon) earned the honor by placing third and eighth, respectively, at the NCAA wrestling championships Saturday in St. Louis, Mo.
Griffin, the second seed at 141 pounds, defeated fourth-seeded Nathan Morgan of Oklahoma State in the consolation finals. Lucas, a junior, was pinned by Navy's Matthew Stolpinski in 4:09 in the seventh-place match.
Griffin, a senior, finishes his career as a two-time All-American - he also placed third last season.
MEN'S LACROSSE
Hofstra 13, Towson 8: Anthony Muscarella scored a career-high five goals for No. 15 Hofstra (3-2, 1-0 CAA) in a home victory over Towson on Friday night.
Sophomore Dan Stein added two goals and an assist for Hofstra. Towson is 1-4, 0-1.
SOFTBALL
Hofstra 3, James Madison 1: Kayleigh Lotti threw a three-hitter with 12 strikeouts in a 3-1 win for Hofstra (15-8, 2-1 CAA) at James Madison.
Freshman Sara Michalowski hit her first career home run for Hofstra. James Madison is 14-13, 1-2.
