The first BCS poll has been released and as expected Alabama sits at the top, followed by Florida, Oregon, Kansas State and Notre Dame. LSU, South Carolina, despite a loss to LSU on Saturday, Oregon State, Oklahoma and USC round out the top 10.

The SEC and the Big 12 leads the way with seven teams in the standings. The PAC-12 has four teams, the Big East, led by Rutgers, has three teams, while the ACC has two teams. Notre Dame is the only independent team in the standings.

With Alabama and Florida set to play each other, the top two spots may not stay the same the rest of the way. The remainder of the top five is a different story. Oregon, Kansas State and Notre Dame could all end the season undefeated. What happens then? Stay tuned.
