Barclays Center college hoops starts Friday

Six of the nation’s Top 25 ranked college basketball teams will headline a spectacular inaugural season of Brooklyn Hoops at Barclays Center beginning Friday, November 9 when NCAA defending champion and No. 3 ranked Kentucky faces Maryland at 8:30 p.m. in the Barclays Center Classic.

Friday's action will begin at 5:45 p.m. when LIU-Brooklyn takes on  Moorehead State in its season opener.

Hofstra will also make an appearance at the Barclays Center. The Pride will take on Tulane at the arena on December 22. St. John's will play St. Francis on December 15 at the Barclays Center.

Other matchups slated to take place at the Barclays Center include the 2012 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic on November 16-17. No. 25 Florida State will face BYU in one semifinal, while No. 22 Notre Dame will play St. Joseph's in the other semifinal. The final will take place on November 17.

The Legends Classic, set for November 19, features No. 1 Indiana vs. Georgia and No. 13 UCLA against Georgetown. The championship game will take place November 20.

Fordham, Princeton and Manhattan are among the local teams that will play at the Barclays Center.

The Atlantic-10 Men's Basketball tournament and the A-10 women's tournament final will be played at the Barclays Center.
