It’s been a tough year for the Hofstra, which fell in heart-breaking fashion, 57-56, to Delaware on Senior Day on Wednesday.

But that doesn’t mean things will be easier next season for Hofstra, at least according to the schedule. The Pride will open up the 2013-2014 season against Louisville as part of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament, the organization announced on Thursday.

The tournament, sponsored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, will take place on Saturday, Nov. 23 and Sunday, Nov. 24 at the Mohegan Sun Arena.

Hofstra will play its season-opener at Louisville on Nov. 12 and play at Richmond on Nov. 19. In games at the Mohegan Sun Arena, the Pride will take on Hartford on Nov. 23 and then play either Belmont or Holy Cross on Nov. 24.

Other programs in the tournament are North Carolina and Fairfield University (MAAC).

“Once again this year’s Tip-Off Tournament showcases some of the nation’s best college basketball programs,” said John L. Doleva, President and CEO of the Basketball Hall of Fame. “We are excited to host the tournament again at the Mohegan Sun, and we are looking forward to seeing the great match-ups in November.”
