Iona announced its recruiting class for the 2013-2014 season.

Leading the way for the Gaels class is Rutgers transfer and 6-5 senior Mike Poole and Marshall transfer Kelvin Amayo, a 6-4 guard. Both players saw action at their previous schools. Their experience should help the Gaels overcome the loss of high-scoring guard Lamont “Mo Mo” Jones.

Ryden Hines, a 6-10 center, 6-11 forward Daniel Robinson and Shackquiel Scott, a 6-6 forward are also part of the announced class. They will join early signee Isaiah Williams.

"Kelvin, Ryden, Mike, Daniel and Shack each add a unique skill set that can help us this upcoming season," said Iona coach Tim Cluess. "I'm looking forward to their development and integration into Iona and our system."

Other key returnees for Iona, which advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season for the second straight year, include senior forward Sean Armand and Half Hollow Hills West graduate Tavon Sledge.
