After taking two of three games at the 2K Sports Classic in Detroit, Stony Brook regains the top spot in the Metro Hoops Poll. Stony Brook sophomore big man Jameel Warney had arguably the best two-game stretch in program history, totaling 55 points and 40 rebounds. It was certainly one of the most topsy-turvy weekends in college football. Baylor and Oregon getting crushed opened the door for Ohio State, Auburn and Missouri. Even No. 7 Oklahoma State now has an outside shot at the BCS title game.

All eyes will be on the Big 12 this Saturday as Baylor and Oklahoma State go head-to-head. Obviously Ohio State and Oregon will be rooting for Oklahoma State. Arizona State and UCLA are battling for PAC-12 South supremacy. The winner there has a chance at a date with either Oregon or Stanford in the PAC-12 title game.

There was a shift in the top spot as St. John’s moves into the No. 1 spot after a 73-57 drubbing of Wagner. Stony Brook drops to second after a 90-74 loss at Indiana and Manhattan slipped to No. 3. Slowly but surely, Baylor is creeping into the national championship race. If the Bears can win at No. 10 Oklahoma State on Saturday, things could get really tight for 3rd-ranked Ohio State, which plays lowly Indiana on Saturday.
