Is the Heisman Trophy Jameis Winston’s to lose? Assuming a potential sexual assault charge isn’t levied before Heisman votes are due, it could be. Winston was masterful in Florida State’s 37-7 win over Florida, throwing for 327 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT.

Winston, barring a complete meltdown, should cement his status as the front runner after next weekend's showdown with Duke in the ACC title...

The college football season clearly has saved its best for the last regular season weekend off the season. Alabama plays at Auburn, Florida hosts Florida State, Texas A&M visits Missouri and Ohio State is at Michigan. Each of those games, and a few others not mentioned, could have some sort of effect on the BCS national championship and the Heisman Trophy race.

It's rare to see the Heisman Trophy race in such flux. For a while, it was all about Johnny Manziel, then it was about Marcus Mariota, then about Jameis Winston. At this point, it's anybody's race. If integrity and character weren't factors in the voting, Winston would probably win in a walk. But his legal problems opened the door for two to three other players. A.J. McCarron, who bested Manziel...

Hofstra let one get away last weekend, but all indications are that this is a squad that is on the rise.

It was certainly one of the most topsy-turvy weekends in college football. Baylor and Oregon getting crushed opened the door for Ohio State, Auburn and Missouri. Even No. 7 Oklahoma State now has an outside shot at the BCS title game.

No. 1 Alabama and fourth-ranked Auburn play each other, while No. 5 Missouri still has its regular-season finale against Texas A&M. No. 2 Florida State still...

Aaron Gordon, Jabari Parker, Julius Randle and Andrew Wiggins are four names you will hear over and over again.

And the hype won’t end anytime soon.

Some are calling this the best freshman class ever. Most believe all four (assuming they all declare) will be among the top five picks in the draft. Oklahoma State point guard Marcus Smart might be a top four selection.

If the early...
