There are several games this weekend that have serious national title implications. Florida State is looking to stay undefeated and in the top 10, while two undefeated PAC-12 teams in Washington and Stanford look to keep its names in national headlines. Ohio State will get its toughest test (vs. Northwestern) to date and Notre Dame looks to keep its BCS hopes alive against Arizona State.

USC fired Lane Kiffin and UConn axed Paul Pasqualoni. Both firings were expected, especially Kiffin’s. Pasqualoni’s firing was understandable, but it’s not easy winning at UConn.
Is there anyone next on the chopping block? Not at the moment, as many of the top programs have coaches who are in the early stages of their contracts.

There are many things that could be decided this weekend, including the futures of Mack Brown and Bo Pelini, the plight of Notre Dame and the legitimacy of Auburn and Michigan State. It's pretty obvious what the game of the week is. Alabama vs. Texas A&M has enormous implications. Outside of Saturday's Alabama game and a midseason tilt at Ole Miss, the Aggies won't be tested again until a showdown at LSU on November 23.
