Hofstra lost significant firepower from last season’s squad, including two program greats in Shante Evans and Candace Bond.

Staten Island’s Brian Bernardi is the latest to join Hofstra men's basketball coach Joe Mihalich’s revamped squad, the school announced. The sophomore, who averaged 11.2 minutes and 3.5 points per game as a guard for Southern Methodist University, will have to sit out the 2013-2014 season, per NCAA regulations. He will be eligible to play for three more seasons.

Hofstra has added transfers Zeke Upshaw and Dion Nesmith to the men's basketball roster. Nesmith, a 6-foot guard, averaged 8.1 points at Monmouth last season. Upshaw, a 6-6 guard, averaged 2.5 points at Illinois State....Read more »
The Colonial Athletic Association has changed the schedule for the 2013 men's lacrosse championship. The semifinal will now be Wednesday, May 1 and the title game will be Friday, May 3.
With the No. 1 seed already locked up, Penn State will host the conference tournament in University Park, Pa.

The sophomore attack (pictured) led Hofstra in assists last season with 16. She scored 15 goals and had 11 draw controls.
The senior midfield scored 22 goals, had 40 draw controls, 13 ground balls.
The senior defense was a second-team All-CAA pick last year with 12 ground balls, 10 draw controls and 13 caused turnovers.
