St. John’s sophomore center Chris Obekpa was suspended for the Red Storm’s Tip-Off as well as the team’s two exhibition games against San Francisco State scheduled for Nov. 2 and 3, the University announced Friday. The 6-9 graduate of Our Savior New American was suspended for university policy.

St. John’s was on the wrong end of a 58-56 loss to Rutgers Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden, but the Red Storm continued its recent trend toward better rebounding and a stronger defense.
