Fearless bowl predictions: Dec. 20-26

Dec. 20

Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl
Florida International vs. Marshall (+4), 8 p.m.: Keep an eye on Marshall defensive end Vinny Curry, who has 11 sacks, 21 tackles for loss, six forced fumbles and three blocked kicks. The rumors about Florida International head coach Mario Cristobal being in the mix for the Pittsburgh job has to have some impact. Marshall 23, Florida International 20

Dec. 21

Poinsettia Bowl
No. 18 TCU vs. Louisiana Tech (+9.5), 8 p.m.: TCU won 10 games, but couldn’t qualify for a BCS bowl. Louisiana Tech has won seven straight with redshirt junior quarterback Colby Cameron as the key difference-maker. TCU 30, Louisiana Tech 17

Dec. 22

Las Vegas Bowl
Arizona State vs. No. 7 Boise State (-13.5), 8 p.m.: Boise State got snubbed by the BCS and is playing a 6-6 team that lost four straight to end the season and saw its head coach fired. Kellen Moore deserves to end his career with a win. Boise State 48, Arizona State 17

Dec. 24

Hawaii Bowl
Nevada vs. No. 21 Southern Mississippi (-6), 8 p.m.: Southern Mississippi rolls into this game as the Conference USA champions and with Larry Fedora coaching his final game before heading to North Carolina. Southern Mississippi 38, Nevada 27

Dec. 26

Independence Bowl
Missouri vs. North Carolina (+4.5), 5 p.m.: Missouri will play its final game as a member of the Big 12 against a North Carolina team playing its final game under interim coach Everett Withers. Neither team finished the season strong, but Missouri’s offense (ranked 12th nationally/472.4 yards per game) is going to be a lot to handle. Missouri 27, North Carolina 20
