St. John’s begins the season as the top team in the Metro Hoops poll. After a 25-point, 13-rebound performance by Aliyyah Hanford in the Red Storm’s season-opening win against Sacred Heart, they will be a hard team to supplant. Rutgers, Seton Hall and Marist make out the top four, while Sacred Heart sits at No. 5.

Fordham and Hofstra are sixth and seventh, followed by Iona, Quinnipiac and Stony Brook.
