Stony Brook senior linebacker Tyler Santucci was named a second team All-American by the Associated Press.

Santucci is the first Stony Brook player named an All-American since the program moved to Division I.

Santucci was named the Big South defensive player of the year after leading Stony Brook in tackles with 93. He also had 14 tackles for loss this season.

Stony Brook's other AP All-Americans were defensive back Chuck Downey in 1987 and punter David Lewis in 1988.
