Stony Brook to play Syracuse, Army in 2012

Road games against Syracuse and Army, members of the Football Bowl Subdivision, highlight the 2012 schedule for Stony Brook, which is a contender for the Football Championship Subdivision national title. It marks the second straight year Stony Brook has scheduled two FBS opponents.

"They're both great gets for Stony Brook,'' Seawolves coach Chuck Priore said of two major in-state schools. "They're schools we want to identify with and compete against.''

Stony Brook opens at home Sept. 1 against Central Connecticut State of the Northeast Conference and concludes with six Big South Conference games. The regular-season finale is Nov. 10 at leading conference rival Liberty.
