Stony Brook University's football team will take a step back this season, if you believe the results of a Colonial Athletic Association poll.

SBU finished eighth (3-5) last season, its first in the CAA after leaving the Big South. The Seawolves were picked to finish ninth based on voting by league coaches and sports information directors.

The Seawolves are set to play 12 games this season for the first time in school history.

Training camp begins Aug. 1. Stony Brook opens the season Aug. 28 at home against Bryant. Its first conference game is Sept. 27, hosting William & Mary.
