East Ramapo school board silences public speaking

The East Ramapo School Board elected Nathan Losman, a White Plains-based attorney, and Bernard Charles, a Spring Valley man with mayoral aspirations, to fill two empty board seats during a meeting on Tuesday. After reading the appointments, School Board President Daniel Schwartz called parents and students in the room "a bunch of miscreants" before unanimously passing the motion to move public speaking to the end of the meeting, but didn't allow the public to speak.
