Reds righthander Edinson Volquez was suspended 50 games for testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug. Volquez is currently on the disabled list after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his elbow. He isn't expected to return after the All-Star break at the earliest. This suspension starts immediately and has no impact on his fantasy value for those that drafted him and have him stashed on the bench or disabled list. The suspension ends in mid June. Volquez won't get paid during the suspension. Volquez went 4-2 with a 4.35 ERA last season before going on the disabled list with back spasms and then the elbow injury. Volquez was an All-Star in 2008with a 17-6 mark and 3.21 ERA.
