PHILADELPHIA -- It seemed odd that newly signed DeMarco Murray, who earned a five-year, $40 million contract in the off-season, was missing from the Eagles' first training camp practice on Sunday.

Coach Chip Kelly solved the mystery on Tuesday, explaining that Murray was slightly dehydrated before practice and the team did not want to take any chances. The Eagles test all players before each practice for their hydration levels, and Murray's was slightly elevated.

"It was a training staff decision," Kelly said. "Especially, with the way the weather has been, we didn't want to take any chances. It's not just for [Murray]. We treat every player on a daily basis."

Murray took part in Tuesday's practice, the team's first in full pads.
