Plattduetsche Park Restaurant has partnered with the Long Ireland Beer Company to offer a new local beer on tap starting next week.

The hoppy, bright, kolsch-style beer will be available at Plattduetsche Park in half-liters and liters beginning April 4. Kolsch beer dates back to the 9th Century. The top-fermented, highly hopped beer is associated with Cologne, Germany.

Many American craft brewers make kolsch beer. Long Ireland, based in Riverhead, is known for its Celtic Ale, pale ale, "breakfast stout," and in summer, raspberry wheat beer.

Plattduetsche Park, a two-star restaurant specializing in German and continental cuisines, opens a beer garden in summer. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Wednesday to Sunday.
