Either John Mara's temper has calmed down or the Giants believe that changing two positions on their staff will correct the mistakes of 2009. Either way, another day has come and, according to what I'm told, will go without any other staff changes.

So far only Bill Sheridan and defensive line coach Mike Waufle have been dismissed. The rest of the staff remains. For now. Further shake-ups will likey occur, either before or after a new defensive coordinator is brought in.

Plus the future of several other coaches, including offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride, remain up in the air as they perhaps contenplate other offers. We noted that in an earlier post.

Speaking of new coordinators, Vinny DiTrani is reporting that Romeo Crennel, fresh off his vacation, will be joining the Chiefs' staff, reuniting him with Charlie Weis on the other side of the ball. They also have Scott Pioli as the general manager. What they don't have is Bill Belichick as head coach, though, so it's a little like Ray Manzarek, John Densmore and Robby Krieger getting together with Todd Haley stepping in for Jim Morrison. They can play all of the Doors songs they want, but they're not the Doors.
