Being called Bob doesn't bother Robert Griffin III

Robert Griffin III normally goes by the moniker RGIII. He said he wasn't insulted earlier this preseason when Osi Umenyiora said he'd call him "Bob" until he earned such a cool nickname. But that doesn't mean he expects it to last.

"It really hasn't stuck," Griffin said Wednesday when asked if people are now calling him Bob. "I don't plan on letting it stick, either."

Umenyiora backed off the Bob stuff after Griffin dazzled in his NFL debut against the Saints. Griffin said the only other person who ever called him Bob was an assistant coach at Baylor. "No one else called me that, so he wanted to have that name on lock," Griffin said. "It was kind of funny."

As for Umenyiora's use of the B-word, Griffin said it rolled off his Roman-numeraled back.

"I didn't mind it at all," he said. "I got where he was coming from . . . Whatever else he wants to call me, it doesn't matter. I've had people call me worse things on the field."
