Perry Fewell flew to Chicago for what appeared to be a slam-dunk interview for the Bears’ defensive coordinator job yesterday. Tonight, according to his agent, he's flying home and without the job -- for now.

That can only be good news if the Giants are indeed interested in tapping the former Bills coordinator and interim head coach to run their defense.

Fewell’s agent called reports that the coach has already agreed to work for the Bears under Lovie Smith “absolutely not accurate” and said that he’ll discuss options with his wife. Fewell has not received an offer from either team, but he did leave an interview with the Giants last week saying he would give them a call before making any decisions. The agent said they are "anticipating options."

“He’s sticking to the plan,” his agent said. “He’s going to go through the whole process and then sit with his wife and hash everything out."
