Charles Brown, an offensive tackle who started most of the year for the Saints in 2013 but was benched down the stretch and in the postseason, has signed with the Giants.

The 6-6, 300-pound free agent will compete at both tackle positions and also has experience as a blocking tight end in a six-man formation the Giants have been fond of using.

Brown is the fourth offensive lineman the Giants have added this offseason. He follows guard Geoff Schwartz, center J.D. Walton and guard/tackle John Jerry.

In four years in New Orleans, Brown played in 37 games with 22 starts: 14 at left tackle, seven at right tackle and one as an extra tight end. Brown was a second-round draft choice from USC by the Saints in 2010, the 64th overall selection. His 2011 and 2012 seasons ended with him on injured reserve.
