We're heading over to the Giants' complex this morning to talk to some of the players and listen in on Jerry Reese's press conference, so there'll be a ton of information on the blog and through Twitter throughout the day. But I didn't want to lose my stride with this position-by-position stuff.

With the draft a week from today, we’re getting closer and closer to the top of the list in terms of need for the Giants. Today’s position:

RECEIVERS

Funny how a few months can change everything. A year ago at this time the Giants were starving for receivers. Now? They look pretty good there. In a way the Giants have already drafted this season for the position by selecting talented project Ramses Barden in last year’s draft and then sticking him in the pantry for the year. They’re hoping that he’ll be able to contribute in 2010. They also made a pretty good first-round pick in Hakeem Nicks and saw Steve Smith enjoy a breakout season. Mario Manningham and Domenik Hixon are expected to continue improving and Derek Hagan and Sinorice Moss were both brought back as restricted free agents (although their roster spots are far from guaranteed). They also have to figure out what to do with Travis Beckum and how he will fit into the offense. SO they have plenty of bodies at the position but there is still room for improvement. Don’t be surprised if the Giants try to grab a receiver in the middle rounds even though they don’t necessarily need one.
