Prince Amukamara knows what people think about him, because he thinks it himself.
" 'Injury prone' has always been right next to my name," Amukamara, who has played in 16 games only once in his four NFL seasons, told Giants.com on Wednesday night. "Anytime I'm out for any type of time, it's just natural for that memory to be behind my head. I never want to be out for any reason. So I'm definitely glad to be back."

The starting cornerback returned to practice on Wednesday evening after missing two weeks with a groin strain. Amukamara did travel with the team to Cincinnati last week, but did not participate in any of the practices or in the preseason game against the Bengals. He might not play Saturday against the Jaguars, either. But getting back on the field to practice with the team was a good step.
"I definitely surprised myself," he said of how much he was able to do in his first day back. "With a groin injury or any type of soft tissue, you never know how much you can do unless you just do it. So that's what I did. They told me to just go at a controlled speed, and that's what I did. And I was able to do what was required of me."
That didn't restrict him from contact.
"I definitely want to thud a little bit, just so I can remember how it feels to hit, to be hit, and just that physical contact," he said. "I'm surprised. My legs feel good ...I felt a little bit, maybe soreness or a little tightness, but nothing too concerning."
Amukamara's career began with injury news. As a rookie he broke his foot on his second day of training camp (after a brief holdout). Since then he's had ankle and hamstring injuries and last year he missed the final half of the season with a torn biceps.
He also said traveling with the team last week was beneficial, even if he was unable to step on the field.
"Going to Cincinnati really helped, because a lot was installed there," he said. "I don't think I got any mental errors or any plays that I messed up on (on Wednesday)."
