Damontre Moore disappointed he won't get to see Von Miller, but he's probably the only Giant

The Giants are certainly relieved not to have to face Von Miller, a Defensive Player of the Year candidate currently serving a six-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse police and continuing to find himself in more trouble on an almost daily basis.

But there is one Giants player who is disappointed that Miller won’t be making the trip to New Jersey this weekend.

That’d be former Texas A&M teammate Damontre Moore, who was close to Miller in College Station. They were teammates in Moore’s rookie year and a lot of comparisons were made between the two players. In fact, Moore was very close to Miller and his family and credited them with helping him become a star in college football after a down year his sophomore season. Here's a video to that effect:

Now it’s Miller who seems to be in need of some direction and counseling. Moore shrugged off Miller’s problems when asked about them yesterday.

“It comes with the game, you know?” Moore said. “It’s a little adversity, so just handle it like that. To each his own.”

Of course it’s easy for the Giants to pay little attention to Miller. The Broncos have to deal with it every day. Coach John Fox said he was disappointed with his third-year player.

“Around here we talk about how there’s no “I” in team but there is an “I” in win and that’s individual responsibility,” Fox said. “We ask that of all our people, and sometimes you fall short of that. Those things happen. There are not too many perfect people walking around. I’d say yes, (we are) disappointed, but we’ve not given up by any stretch.”
