Inspector Bradshaw deciphers Hakeem Nicks' hints, thinks WR will play
Hakeem Nicks is apparently dropping hints that he’ll play this week. And Ahmad Bradshaw was the recipient of one.
In a spot on ESPN Radio in New York today, Bradshaw said he believes Nicks will play against the 49ers because “he seemed to give me a hint that he would be."
Not sure what that hint might be. A charades gesture, perhaps? Or some kind of code?
“I’ll be laying-pay against the ortyniners-fay.”
Or perhaps it was far less subtle.
“Hey, Ahmad, I’m not saying I’m going to be playing, but … (wink, wink).”
Maybe Nicks activated himself and dropped both Ramses Barden and Rueben Randle from his fantasy team.
Whatever it was, the hint was received. And if it has been translated accurately, it would be very good news for the Giants.
“Hakeem will be back and he'll be 100 percent when he does,” Bradshaw said. “He's just being careful and just taking his time. He wants to come back and be that playmaker he's always been with all he can and he doesn't want to come back and be missing game-in, game-out. I think he's just being precautious about it, but I think he'll be fine.”
Bradshaw also spoke about a few other things regarding the upcoming 49ers game, most notably a chance to play against his big brother Brandon Jacobs and former Giants receiver Mario Manningham. Bradshaw said he spoke with Jacobs last week and the big guy thinks he’ll see his first plays of the season with the 49ers against his former team.
“He said he thinks he's going to get some action so I'm sure he is," Bradshaw said. "It's just a fun competition. It's just playing your brother outside on the playground or your older cousin. I can't wait. I'm excited. Not only (Jacobs), I mean, with Mario Manningham. He was my neighbor also and just like a little brother for me.”
