NFC title tilt is TV hit

Sunday's NFC Championship Game averaged 57.6 million viewers on Fox, making it the third most-watched conference final ever, behind only the Cowboys-49ers game in 1982 (68.7 million) and Vikings-Saints (57.9M) two years ago.

The game averaged 30.6 percent of homes nationally, peaking at 36.9 percent - and 69 million viewers - as the game climaxed from 10 to 10:30 p.m. ET.

An average of 41.8 percent of homes in the New York-area watched, a record for Fox in the market for a non-Super Bowl game. In San Francisco, 47.4 percent of homes tuned in.
