As I mentioned, Chris Snee wasn’t the only member of his family on hand at the NFL Shop pop-up store in Manhattan. He was joined by his wife, Kate. You may have heard that she also happens to be the daughter of one Tom Coughlin.

After the Super Bowl XLVI win, Coughlin was very expressive of how much the win meant to him and how much he enjoyed seeing it through the eyes of his grown children … much more than he did for Super Bowl XLII. Kate said she’s noticed him much more relaxed this offseason as well.

“It’s great,” she said. “He’s happy. It’s a chain reaction for the whole family. It’s good to see.”

And also good that he’ll be getting an extension soon.

Of course, about a month before he won his second Super Bowl, it seemed like Coughlin was coaching for his job.

“It’s always hard,” Kate Snee said of reading and hearing those things about her father. “It’s not something you ever want to hear. But at the same time we’re so used to it. We’re going to hear it again, probably.”

After two Super Bowls?

“You never know around here,” she said. “One day it’s good, the next day it’s bad.”

Kate did relay one cute story about her father. She recalled the day of Super Bowl XLII in Arizona when he was in his hotel room going over some last minute notes when the grandkids burst in and started jumping on him and doodling on his notes.

“It didn’t bother him at all,” she remembered. “He was so relaxed. I always remember that image. To see this guy who is so rigid and so stern and it’s the biggest day of his career and he’s just relaxing with the grandkids. There were a few more grandkids this time, a few more doodles, but he was the same way. It’s nice to see that.”
